alaska
I live in southeast Alaska next to Glacier Bay National Park, and enjoy traveling throughout alaska as a writer and photographer. I have made four trips to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and for five years I lived near Denali National Park where my wife Melanie worked as a ranger. My other areas of interest in Alaska include the Tongass National Forest, the Icy Strait region, and the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. |

antarctic
I have been travelling to Antarctica since 1993. I work on board expedition cruise ships that run between Ushuaia Argentina and the Antarctic peninsula, the Island of South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands. My duties include driving Zodiac (small inflatable motorized boats), teaching photography and lecturing on Heroic Age of exploration in Antarctica. Melanie, my wife, has travelled with me on 30 trips back and forth across the Drake Passage, and we have enjoyed every one. |

galapagos
Melanie and I both lived and worked in the Galapagos Islands in the early 1980s and attended the naturalist training course at the Charles Darwin research station. Since then we have returned a couple times working for Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic Expeditions. |
